Qualcomm and Maptuit Announce Partnership Aug 2007 | Heavy Duty Trucking Maptuit Corp.’s NaviGo navigation system will be available on Qualcomm’s OmnivVision mobile computing platform, the two companies announced. NaviGo combines on-board and server-based applications to provide real-time routing instructions, including interactive maps. “It’s two companies with two good products coming together,” said Norm Ellis, vice president and general manager of global transportation and logistics for Qualcomm. The OmniVision system features text-to-speech capabilities and a color touchscreen display for easy driver access to messages and directions. Maptuit Corp. provides truck-specific, real-time, turn-by-turn directions for the trucking industry, and tracking and traffic services for the transportation and consumer markets.
